A Career at Aish Technologies

Every year Aish Technologies have a number of apprenticeship places that become available, providing the opportunity for bright individuals with an aptitude for engineering to embark on an apprenticeship, consisting of both in-house training and college courses.

We have just taken on six new apprentices for a four year hands on experience with continual assessment throughout their training with the setting of achievable targets to help them gain their NVQ 3 qualification. The apprentices will not only work towards an NVQ but they will also receive a technical certificate at the end of their apprenticeship highlighting the academic achievements they have gained over the last four years of the apprenticeship.
We as a company want our apprentices to take part in a job rotation so that they have an insight into all aspects of the business in addition to manufacturing. Such aspects could include design & development, production engineering, planning & control, project management and business development; this will help to open up the opportunity for further development in all functional areas of the company. We want to help guide them through the apprenticeship process and help develop them for future employment within Aish Technologies and offer them ongoing support and development.

We as a company are dedicated in developing and training our employees and this is seen with the development of our Traineeship scheme where we have taken on four new Manufacturing trainees, this programme gives anyone at any age the opportunity to get on-the -job training for a fantastic career in manufacturing even if they have no experience from that field.

Our six new apprentices will cover areas of Mechanical and Electrical engineering; as well as giving them the opportunity to explore other aspects of the company as previously mentioned above to help give the new apprentices an idea of what areas they could have an aptitude for, following completion of their apprenticeship, this might include the continuation to complete further qualifications such as an HNC, HND or NVQ4 and to become a greater asset to the Aish the team.
Scott Webber, one of the current mechanical and electrical apprentices who has just joined us and is this year’s winner of the Engineering Skills PEO Yr2 award from Bournemouth and Poole college. What does he think about joining Aish as an Apprentice?

Scott said – ‘At College last year I completed an NVQ2 in engineering, my hard work paid off and I won an award for being top of the class, which I was very happy about. I have now managed to get an apprenticeship with Aish Technologies I am glad about this as I know it will give the opportunity to try several areas of engineering and will help me to progress into the area of my choice for the future’.

Adam Last is one of our apprentices who is coming to the end of his apprenticeship and is looking to begin an HNC. Adam has completed his apprenticeship with distinction, what does Adam think of being an apprentice at Aish?

A quote from Adam – ‘A fantastic opportunity to allow me to get involved with building products while learning about them at the same time. I have been given the opportunity and the support to continue with my development and I begin my HNC studies this year’.
