Aish Technologies in Record Refit
HMS Vigilant, the last of the four Royal Navy Vanguard Class submarines to be fitted with the updated BAE Systems Insyte Submarine Command System Next Generation (SMCS NG) has returned to operations after her new command system was installed in an impressive 18 days. As part of the nuclear deterrent force, HMS Vigilant is an essential element in the UK’s national security, making the rapid insertion of the new technology a high priority.
Aish Technologies is a key supplier to Insyte for SMCS NG, providing the operator consoles (pictured below) and ancillary flat screen displays. The Aish Technologies Support Team was a critical element in the installation process, fitting the consoles in record time. This was achieved through detailed forward planning, close co-operation with other on-site teams, and sheer hard work on the day.
