Aish Technologies Receives Congratulations

Aish Technologies Limited has once again been thanked by a customer for its performance on a major UK defence programme.  The programme, known as S2054(IR), is a modernisation of Sonar 2054, the Royal Navy’s primary integrated sonar suite fitted to Vanguard Class submarines.  Aish Technologies has a contract with Lead Integrator Lockheed Martin UK for the design, manufacture and installation of an upgrade kit for the operator consoles, including new flat-screen displays and input devices, plus new electronics sub-racks and I/O panels for use within the system’s processing suite.

The first hardware installation of S2054(IR) on a platform has just been carried out, and Paul Mapletoft, Managing Director of the Maritime Transport and Security Systems Division of Lockheed Martin UK, said:

“Lockheed Martin successfully completed the hardware fit of S2054(IR) in the first platform on schedule with the MoD acceptance authority, MCTA, stating that the installation was very impressive.   This is primarily due to the industry and professionalism of your team and the quality of their work.”

The world’s largest defence contractor, Lockheed Martin won the S2054(IR) programme against fierce competition using the experience it has gained from the Acoustic Rapid COTS Insertion (ARCI) programme, which provides open systems architecture upgrades to legacy sonars fitted in the US submarine fleet.

Aish Technologies is pleased to be selected by Lockheed Martin as a leading hardware supplier for this important programme.  Like many defence prime contractors, Lockheed Martin has found that Aish Technologies’ agility and responsiveness in the face of changing programme priorities ensures that both risk and costs are kept firmly under control.
